BIOGRAPHY

Jonathan S. Chung is a senior associate with the Firm, focusing on family law. Prior to joining Hutchison & Steffen, Jonathan worked for several years with a boutique family law firm in Las Vegas. Jonathan obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of California, Irvine in 2011, and his Juris Doctor from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2017. In law school, Jonathan developed strong legal writing and research skills as an Articles Editor for the school’s Gaming Law Journal and a research assistant for the Wiener-Rogers Law Library. Jonathan was selected as a fellow for the law school’s Public Interest Fellowship, working on access to justice, and a fellow for the Attorney General’s Janet D. Steiger Fellowship, working on high-profile, national consumer protection cases.

Jonathan spent each semester of law school building practical legal experience as a Student Attorney with the Thomas and Mack Small Business and Nonprofit Legal Clinic, a judicial extern to the Honorable Magistrate Judge William G. Cobb of the United States District Court – District of Nevada in Reno, and a student extern at the Las Vegas City Attorney’s Office. Prior to being admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 2017, Jonathan worked as a law clerk for the Wynn Las Vegas.

Jonathan earned second place in the 8th Annual Saltman In-House Negotiation Competition (2014), and has volunteered with multiple legal organizations, including Nevada Legal Services, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and the Federal Public Defenders. He was awarded Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada’s 2016 Public Interest Law Student of Distinction and the Nevada State Bar’s Family Law Section’s Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Services in 2018. He continues to volunteer with Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Legal Services.

Currently, Jonathan is the Treasurer and a board member at the Asian American Advocacy Clinic, providing access to justice for the Asian community in Las Vegas, and a member of the Association for Legal Excellence.
