C. Michael Rasmussen is a partner with Hutchison & Steffen, with a practice focused on transactional law, including asset planning, protection, and preservation, as well as overseeing large and complex real estate matters. He has nearly 20 years of experience in law in Nevada. Prior to joining Hutchison & Steffen, Michael practiced with one of the largest firms in Nevada and with the largest homebuilder in the nation.

In his practice he represents clients with respect to family wealth, estate, and asset preservation planning, probate and estate administration matters, charitable giving, and sophisticated business and estate tax planning matters. He found that many of his Nevada based clients built their wealth in the real estate industry and he endeavored to learn the real estate practice. In real estate matters, he counsels clients regarding complex development projects primarily in land acquisition and disposition. He has worked on hotel and resort properties, office buildings, retail properties, residential developments, multi-use projects, industrial parks, apartment buildings, condominiums, and raw land. He has advised clients with respect to purchases and sales of real property, leasing, joint venture agreements, development agreements, land-use matters, construction activities, real estate-based financing, condemnations, easements, title matters and other property interests.

In the corporate and business areas he has provided advice on a variety of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formations, debt and equity financings, corporate governance, and other general matters of business law. He is admitted to practice in Nevada.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney School of Law. In addition to his legal work, Michael follows UNLV basketball, speaks Japanese, loves sushi and enjoys spending time with his wife and five children.
