Hutchison & Steffen Donates 30 Units Of Blood Through American Red Cross Blood Drive

LAS VEGAS, NEV. — As proud supporters of the community, Hutchison & Steffen, one of Nevada’s largest and most respected law firms, organized its eighth annual blood drive, this year in partnership with American Red Cross. The Firm collected 30 units of blood from 36 potential donors during June that will be used to aid members of our community in life-threatening situations.

“Even though giving blood isn’t the most fun thing to do, I’m glad that the Hutchison & Steffen team pulled together for a good cause,” said John T. Steffen, Managing Partner. “The Southern Nevada community is where we all live and obviously is very important to the Firm, and I know that everyone who donated to this worthy cause is thrilled to help members of our community in need.”

The American Red Cross has been providing blood to those in need since 1940, and currently supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply. Each day, approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed in the U.S. Although an estimated 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood at any given time, less than 10 percent of that eligible population actually donates.
