Derek Linford is an associate with Hutchison & Steffen and his practice focuses on medical malpractice defense and healthcare litigation. He has experience representing clients through litigation, including from pre-litigation negotiations through trial preparation. Prior to joining Hutchison & Steffen, Derek was an associate at a regional firm practicing in medical malpractice defense and healthcare litigation.

Derek received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. During law school, Derek served as the Senior Managing Editor for the Arizona Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. He also worked as a law clerk with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and Civil Division of the Pima County Attorney’s Office. While in law school, Derek was the recipient of CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in ERISA & Employee Benefits Law, Federal Income Taxation, and Constitutional Law II.
